FAQs

What is Microblading?

Microblading is the artistic technique of tattooing individual hair strokes with a handheld tool called a microblade. Unlike traditional tattooing, which uses a machine, microblading artists hand draw each hair to blend in with the existing brow.

How long does microblading last?

Microbladed eyebrows last 1 to 2 years for most people. Those with oily skin tend to fade faster and have shorter lasting retention. Some people with very oily skin will only have results for 6-9 months. Dry and non-porous skin has the best retention and healed results - may last up to 2 years.

Does microblading work on all skin tones and skin types?

No. Microblading works best for dry to normal skin types that are not heavily textured. If you have excessively oily skin, we recommend microblading with microshading or nanoblading. Oily skin types can get microblading but must understand that retention is shorter and more touch ups are required. Nano brows or combination brows are recommended for oily skin types that want a hairstroke tattoo.

Who is ineligible for microblading?

Microblading alone is not recommended for those with excessively oily skin, large pores, or very textured skin, We’d recommend a combination of Microblading and Microshading to clients with oily skin. We also do not provide microblading for people: under 18 years old, pregnant or nursing, if you have diabetes, glaucoma, skin diseases such as Shingles, psoriasis or eczema on the area of treatment, allergies to makeup, Keloid disorder, skin cancer, hemophilia, or if you're taking skin medications like ro-accutaine and steroids. Medical contraindications are in place to protect your health and safety.

How long does it take to heal?

It takes about 30 days to completely heal, in which time you may experience mild scabbing and flaking. Most clients report that their scabs were gone by end of week 2.

Microblading Healing Stages: What to expect.

  • Day 1-2: Fresh and Defined

  • Immediately after your appointment, your brows will appear bold, dark, and sharply defined. Slight redness or swelling is common.

  • The color will seem much more intense than the final result.

  • Day 3-4: Scabbing and Darkening

  • Your brows may start to scab and feel dry or tight. It’s normal for the pigment to darken temporarily as the healing process begins.

  • Day 5-7: Flaking and Peeling

  • Flaking or peeling will occur as the skin starts to regenerate. It’s essential not to pick at your brows during this stage to prevent patchiness or scarring.

  • The color may lighten drastically as the scabs come off.

  • Day 8-14: Light and Patchy

  • Your brows might look much lighter or even patchy as new skin forms. This is a normal part of the healing process, and the color will gradually resurface.

  • Day 15-30: Color Returns

  • The pigment will settle, and your brows will begin to look more natural and blended.

  • By the end of this phase, you’ll have a clearer idea of the final color and shape, though a touch-up may be necessary to perfect the look.

  • 1-Month Mark: Follow-Up Touch-Up

  • After a full month, it’s time for your touch-up appointment, where any areas needing adjustments will be filled in to ensure lasting, beautiful results.

    Important Aftercare Tips:

  • Avoid getting your brows wet for, sweating excessively, or exposing them to direct sunlight during the first 7-10 days.

  • Use the aftercare ointment provided to keep your brows moisturized during the healing process.

  • Avoid swimming, tanning, or using skincare products like retinoids on the brow area until fully healed.

When should I get a touch up?

We strongly suggest booking a perfection session within 4 - 8 weeks of your initial procedure. Once you heal from that session, your brows will be set for about one year. People with very oily skin tend to fade faster. A great way to decide when to get a touch-up is when you notice yourself filling in the brows more due to fading.

Why do I need to return for a touch up?

a second session/touch up is apart of the process of Microblading . It is very important to have this session to go over or correct any areas that may lighten up. With out a touch up, the results may not be optimal. Which means coulour will fade significantly with in 4 weeks as the skin heals, peels and fades. The touch up corrects any irregularities in the Microblading strokes, color tones and completes the process.

Can I get microblading while pregnant?

No. Please DO NOT book if you are pregnant, trying to conceive or nursing!

Can I get permanent makeup if I have Juvederm injections/fillers?

We recommend getting permanent makeup first and waiting at least one month prior to getting injectables, or ask your filler provider for clearance.
